National Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health Plus Nutrition Annual review meeting officially commenced by H.E. State Min. of Health
with the motto “Building a resilient health system for maternal, newborn & adolescent health”.
Maternal, child and youth health is still a primary focus today, so all parties must work together.
The Directorate of Maternal and Child Health is conducting a performance review with regional health offices, partners and civil institutions.
In the same evaluation forum, the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Derje Duguma, said that he had been working hard by designing and preparing implementation manuals for maternal, child, and youth health and nutrition. They said they were present.
He said that the effort made to distribute resources such as vaccines and medical equipment for infants is something we are proud of. However, Dr. Darje pointed out that in areas with security problems and poor performance in some areas, all parties should work in coordination.
The Minister of State, Dr. Derje Duguma, who said that surveillance and monitoring work should receive more attention than ever, said that a lot needs to be done in terms of reducing maternal mortality, family planning services, nutrition, maternal death survey and registration and similar services in terms of the goal to be achieved by 2030, and all He said that the parties should strengthen their previous efforts and work closely together.
The Director of the Directorate of Mothers and Children of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Basa Zelam, said that even though the country is in the midst of challenges, the work done to protect the health of mothers, children and young people and the results achieved are commendable. And the interest and cooperation of the partners is very commendable.
In addition, recognition awards were given to those who had contributed irreplaceably to the achievements of the fiscal year, and they said that they believe that the award will inspire those who have done well and those who have been left behind.
He added that the audience of the forum can exchange good experiences and get resources for further work.
In the performance review forum, senior officials of the Ministry of Health and regional health offices, experts working in maternal, child, youth health and nutrition, civil institutions and partners as well as media experts were present. Reports will be submitted and reviewed.
