Merry Christmas.
The most beautiful poem of Christmas.
ALL I KNOW IS HIS NAME
Whether he was born today,
or whether he was born yesterday,
whether he was born here,
or whether he was born there.
Whether he died at thirty-three,
or whether he died at thirty-six.
How many nails,
how many loaves and fishes.
Whether they were kings, whether they were magi.
Whether he had brothers,
or whether he did not.
Where he is, when he will return.
All I truly know is this…
He took me by the hand
when I needed it most.
He taught me how to smile and to give thanks
for the little things.
He taught me how to cry deeply and to let go.
He taught me to wake up grateful
and to go to sleep with a peaceful mind.
To walk slowly and without worries.
He taught me to embrace those who need me.
He taught me so much—he taught me everything.
He taught me to love myself wholeheartedly.
To love those beside me and to offer my hand.
He taught me that he is always speaking to me
in the ordinary, in the simple,
through small messages,
and that to hear him
I must keep my heart open.
He taught me that a “thank you” or a “forgive me”
can change everything.
He taught me that the greatest strength is love
and that the opposite of love is fear.
He taught me how much he loves me
through how much I love my family.
He taught me that miracles do exist.
He taught me that if I do not forgive,
I am the one who remains imprisoned,
and that to forgive, I must first forgive myself.
He taught me that good is not always repaid with good,
but that I must act rightly nonetheless.
He taught me to trust myself
and to raise my voice against injustice.
He taught me to seek him within, not outside.
He allowed me to walk away, without anger;
to go out and discover life;
to make mistakes and to learn.
And he kept loving me, caring for me, and waiting for me.
He taught me that I am only here for a while,
and that I occupy only a small place.
And he asked me to be happy
and to live in peace,
to strive each day to be better
and to share His light while knowing my own shadow;
to enjoy, to delight, to laugh, to cry, to value life;
for He will ALWAYS be with me…
and even when I doubt and feel afraid, to trust
because that is faith:
trusting in Him in spite of myself.
Thank you, Jesus, for being in my life
and for teaching me how to live it.
I celebrate that He came into my life
and that, if I allow Him,
He is born again in my heart!
ALL I KNOW IS THAT HIS NAME IS JESUS CHRIST ❤️
